Members have the opportunity to join other groups' events, some of which are accessible by public transport, notably many run by the Hertfordshire and East Kent groups. GOC is a nationwide federation of local groups, and some of our events are undertaken jointly with neighbouring GOC groups which whom we maintain friendly relationships. Our programme varies between urban walks linking London's many green parks and open spaces and walks in the countryside in the Home Counties around London. GOC London's programme of activities comprises a programme of at least one walk per month, generally on the 1st Saturday of the month, with additional walks where possible on the 3rd Saturday, especially in the summer. All of our walks start and finish at railway stations or other public transport stops, which make linear walks a feasible and attractive option. It is also easy to get away from the metropolis by train to all the surrounding counties, including areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the South Downs, the Kentish Weald and the Chilterns.Ī great advantage of London is its comprehensive public transport system. These spaces often have the added benefit of fascinating history and architecture.

Very horrific experience with overly aggressive bouncers. While London may not have the mountains, glens, and coastal scenery of other parts of the UK, it does have a huge area of green open space varying from formal parkland to heaths and commons. If it wasn't for being turned away so many times due to such prejudice I believe my phone would not have been stolen by the scumbags clearly let into this venue. Me and my friend were two straight girls quite typically Essex (basic) looking girls as I'm sure they would have seen it and I believe this place was simply not letting us in due to this. However I would like to sum this up by saying the people that were around us quite visibly more drunk than I was were much more of the gay aesthetic. Luckily in all this hostility, the manager offered me with some support. There was a particular man that screamed in our face and the same woman that did not grant us entry in the first place joined in. The bouncers were no help and greeted us with hostility and aggression even considering my frustrating situation. I was sent into a panic, naturally I checked the place I went for food and was told there was no phone handed in there and tried to check to queue for G.A.Y. Whilst in this queue my phone was stolen. So we queued again, eager to meet out new friends.

Which I can hand on my heart vouch is not true speaking a 'so called' drunk person typing this review now. We got to the front of the queue and yet again we was greeted with being told I was still too drunk. We took her advice and grabbed some food and came back. As a result the lady on the door told me I was too drunk and that I should take 25 minutes out and grab some food. in a gay bar before and we had seen how much more more drunk they was than us so we were shocked at how they got let in but not us. The people we were entering with were friends we had just met. and were turned down for me supposedly being too drunk which I can completely understand is a subjective matter but I can assure I was completely fine.
